High School: Captained two seasons at Pioneer High School for coaches Jim Duprey and Mary Doud. Set school records in indoor 1,000m as well as indoor and outdoor 1,600m and 3,200m and 4x800m relay for the Panthers. 

Personal: Born June 21, 1994. Son of Lynn and Tracey Smith. Favorite athlete is 10,000m specialist and 2012 U.S. Olympic silver medalist Galen Rupp. Favorite food is chicken wings. Majoring in business administration.
