BUFFALO, NY – The University at Buffalo volleyball team was unable to sustain the momentum from Friday night's victory as the Bulls fell to Ohio, 3-1, Saturday night at Alumni Arena. The Bulls took the first set, but dropped the next three as they fall to 11-6 on the season and 2-2 in the MAC.
The Bobcats took the match 14-25, 25-18, 25-20, 25-12 as they hit .164 for the match, opposed to just .033 for the Bulls. UB looked to be in control with a 25-14 victory in set one, holding Ohio to a -.097 hitting clip. From there, the teams had close sets in both two and three with Ohio securing the win comfortably in the fourth.
"I think tonight was a lesson learned that we need to fight the entire match for every point," said head coach Todd Kress. "We had a lot of missed opportunities and we have to learn quick as we have another match on Thursday night."
Ohio was led by 12 kills from Ellen Herman and 17 digs from Sarah Petrulis. Michelle Jantsch added 35 assists for the Bobcats.
The Bulls remain home this Thursday night as the host Akron at Alumni Arena. The match is set for 7:00 pm.
