DEKALB, IL – The season came to an end on Friday for the University at Buffalo women's tennis team as they dropped a hard-fought 4-3 decision to Western Michigan in the Quarterfinals of the Mid-American Conference Tournament.  The Bulls, who were the sixth seed in the tournament, finish the year with a 7-12 record.

The Broncos, the third seed in the tournament, took the doubles point by winning at first and second doubles.  They then went up 2-0 in the contest with a victory at fourth singles, but the Bulls quickly came back to win the next three matches.  Tamara Markovic won her match at third singles as she defeated Maria Nivia, 6-1, 6-2.  Sophomore Anamaria Candanoza then won at sixth singles as she defeated Jill Pastunink, 6-3, 6-4.  Buffalo took a 3-2 lead in the match as fellow sophomore Tanvi Shah defeated Nini Sujashvili, 6-3, 6-2.  However, Western Michigan took the final two matches at second and fifth singles for the win.
