NEW HAVEN, CT - The University at Buffalo women's tennis team was able to pick up one singles victory on Saturday at the ITA Northeast Regionals, but ultimately saw their tournament lives come to an end with a pair of losses in the Round of 64.
Sophomore Marta Stoyanova won her opening match in the round of 128 against Prerana Appineni of Stony Brook, 6-3, 7-6 (1) to move in to the round of 64. Stoyanova was unable to pick up the upset there though as she fell to Penn's Augustina Sol Eskenazi, 6-2, 7-5.
UB's other sophomore at the event Tanvi Shah received a first round bye, but lost a straight sets decesion to Abby Liu of Hartford, 6-0, 6-4.
This tournament concluded UB's Fall season as they will return to action on January 29 against Syracuse.
