BUFFALO, NY – Senior Denise Harijanto and junior Aleksandra Petrova earned two of the nine spots on the Mid-American Conference women's tennis All-Academic team. Buffalo's two selections matched Miami and Western Michigan for the most in the conference.
For Harijanto, UB's all-time leader in combined doubles and singles wins, it was the third straight year she earned a spot on the team, the only player in the conference to accomplish that feat. Petrova, a junior, was chosen to the team for the first time.
Harijanto, a Management major from Jakarta, Indonesia, carries a 3.66 grade point average and just wrapped up a brilliant career on the court as well. She was a first-team All-MAC selection while compiling a 23-10 doubles record and a 17-14 singles mark this past year. For her career, she is the leader in all-time wins in both singles (86) and doubles (97). She was ranked in both singles and doubles throughout the year in the Northeast by the Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA).
Petrova earned her spot on the All-MAC Academic team by registering a 20-7 doubles record on the season and a 17-11 singles mark. Her 37 total wins ranked second on the team to Harijanto, and she carries a 3.52 grade point average as a Management major.
