Two New Players Added to 2012-13 Women's Soccer Team
University at Buffalo Women’s Soccer coach Michael Thomas announced two new members to the 2012 team today. Coach Thomas announced that Williamsville South graduate Rachel Cook and Albany transfer Kerrianne Madigan will be joining the team for the 2012 campaign.

Quartet of Bulls Named to All-MAC Academic Teams
Senior midfielder Aubrey Stahl and junior defender Shannon Algoe were named to the 2011 Academic All-MAC Team, as voted by faculty athletic representatives at the Mid-American Conference institutions. It was Algoe's second straight year on the team and Stahl's first. The award adds to Algoe's postseason academic honors, joining her recognition by the Capital One Academic All-American Second Team. Katie Kerr and Stephanie Velez were honorable mentions.

Algoe Named to 2011 Capital One Academic All-American Team
For her efforts both on the field and in the classroom, junior defender Shannon Algoe of the women's soccer team has been named to the 2011 Capital One Academic All-American Second Team. The honor, selected by the College Sports Information Directors of America, have been released to recognize the nation’s top student‐athletes for their combined performances athletically and in the classroom.

Trio of Bulls Earn MAC Postseason Honors
The their efforts in helping the women's soccer team win 11 more games than last season and earn the program's second trip ever to the conference semifinals, three Buffalo players were selected to the Mid-American Conference's postseason teams. Senior Aubrey Stahl made the All-MAC second team, while Katie Roberts and Megan Giesen were named to the All-Freshman team.

Despite taking an early 1-0 lead Friday morning against top-seeded Toledo, the Buffalo women’s soccer team could not keep the Rockets at bay, falling 3-1 in the Mid-American Conference semifinal round. It will be exactly one year ago tomorrow when Buffalo was beaten 7-1 on the final day of the regular season by Kent State. Thursday afternoon at UB Stadium, the scene couldn’t be more different. With a playoff berth on the line and an 11-win regular season just 90 minutes away, the women’s soccer team took care of business and earned a bit of redemption in the process, defeating the Golden Flashes 1-0 and clinching the fifth seed in the upcoming Mid-American Conference Tournament. It will be the team's first postseason game since 2003.
