BUFFALO, NY – University at Buffalo assistant rowing coach Kerri Kanaley will be inducted into the Mercyhurst College Athletics Hall of Fame. The Bulls lightweight coach was a member of the Lakers' 2004 National Championship team.
Kanaley and her teammates are the only team in school history to win a national championship. Mercyhurst won the 2004 NCAA Division II women's rowing team championship and Kanaley was in the Varsity Eight boat that placed first.
Kanaley had a stellar career at Mercyhurst. She was a four-year standout that went to three National Championships, winning in 2004 and finishing second in 2005.
The 2004 rowing team will be the first team ever inducted into the Mercyhurst Hall of Fame.
The ceremony will be held on June 4 on the campus of Mercyhurst College.
