BUFFALO, NY - Following a stretch that saw the team beat top 30 teams in Binghamton and Virginia, along with a win over Rider, the Buffalo wrestling team received votes in the weekly NWCA top 25 coaches poll.
The Bulls downed Binghamton and Virginia 24-12 and had close losses to Wyoming (currently ranked number 24) and Edinboro, a team it will face this coming Sunday at 5 pm.
Along with the team receiving votes, a number of Bulls have been recognized in WrestlingReport.com's weekly national individual rankings. Kevin Smith is ranked 24 at 133 pounds, Desi Green is number 25 at 149 pounds and Mark Lewandowski's breakout year has been recognized with his number 32 ranking at 157 pounds. Additionally, Jimmy Hamel comes in at number 29 at 184 pounds and heavyweight Brett Correll is ranked 33 in his weight class.
