Bulls Return To MAC East Play Against Akron Tonight
BUFFALO, NY – The University at Buffalo women's basketball team concludes a three-game home stand tonight as they host Akron at 7:00 pm at Alumni Arena. The Bulls are currently in third place in the MAC East.
Buffalo (13-11, 6-5 MAC) is led by senior Kourtney Brown, who leads the Bulls in scoring (21.8), rebounding (12.4), field goal percentage (.589) and blocked shots (3.17). Brown is currently the only player in the country in the Top 10 in each of those categories. Junior Brittany Hedderson is second on the team in scoring at 11.4 points, having scored 15 points in each of the last two games.
Akron is 11-12 on the season and 4-7 in the MAC, having won their last two games, including a 78-65 victory over Ball State on Saturday. Rachel Tecca, who is averaging 16.9 points and 9.1 rebounds, leads the Zips. Both Taylor Ruper and Kara Murphy are averaging 10.1 points, which is tied for second on the squad.
