Kourtney Brown Named MAC East Player of the Week
BUFFALO, NY – Junior Kourtney Brown was named MAC East Player of the Week the conference office announced on Monday. The award is the second for Brown this season and the second straight week that a UB player has been named MAC East Player of the Week.
Brown averaged 15.0 points and 13.0 rebounds as she recorded double-doubles in all three of UB's game this past week. After 12 points and 11 rebounds against American, Brown had 17 points and 13 rebounds as she led the Bulls to a 65-53 win over Stetson. Following those two games Brown was named to the Stetson Hatter Classic All-Tournament Team. The Solon, OH native then led the Bulls to their second straight win as she had 16 points and 15 rebounds against Bucknell, including 14 rebounds in the first half. Brown also had four of her eight blocks on the week against the Bison.
Brown currently leads the Bulls, and is amongst the MAC leaders, in scoring (16.1), rebounding (11.2), field goal percentage (.566) and blocks (19). Brown is currently just 39 points away from becoming the fourth junior in school history to reach the 1,000-point mark for her career.
Brown and the Bulls begin MAC play this Wednesday as they host Miami (OH) at 7:00 pm at Alumni Arena.
