Bulls Conclude Regular Season at Denault Invitational The University at Buffalo men’s and women’s track and field teams finished the regular season on Saturday at Cornell’s Marc Denault Invitational. There was no team scoring in the meet as the Bulls rested many of their top athletes in preparation for next weekend’s Mid-American Conference Championships.
O'Brien Selected MAC Field Athlete of the Week University at Buffalo women's shot putter Becky O'Brien has been named the Mid-American Conference's Female Field Athlete of the Week, the league announced from its Cleveland headquarters.

Track Teams Face Nation's Best at SPIRE Invitational For the second time this season, the University at Buffalo men's and women's track and field teams competed at the SPIRE Institute in Geneva, OH against some of the nation's best competition at the SPIRE Division I Invitational. There was no team scoring at the meet which included squads from the Atlantic Coast, Big East, Big Ten, Southeastern and Mid-American Conferences.
Women Set Three New Marks, Golabek Wins Shot Put at Sykes-Sabock Cup The University at Buffalo men’s and women’s indoor track and field teams competed at the Penn State Sykes-Sabock Challenge Cup on Saturday. The UB women broke three school records while Rob Golabek continued his unbeaten string in winning the men’s shot put.
UB Cross Country and Track Sign Three University at Buffalo cross country and women’s track and field coach Vicki Mitchell has announced the signing of three individuals to National Letters of Intent to attend UB in the fall 2012.

The Bulls won a total of 11 events, setting two school records and a Barton Hall mark on the day.

Indoor Tracksters Open Season at Doug Raymond Invite The indoor track and field season kicked off on Saturday for the University at Buffalo as the Bulls competed at the Doug Raymond Invitational hosted by Kent State University. There was no team scoring at the meet.
Golabek Earns Academic Momentum Award University at Buffalo men’s track and field athlete Rob Golabek was honored by The Scholar Baller program, in conjunction with the National Consortium for Academics and Sports (NCAS) by being one of 49 student-athletes to receive the Academic Momentum Award.
Track and Field/Cross Country to Offer Clinics and Camps The University at Buffalo's cross country and track and field programs will present a series of clinics and camps over the coming months, including opportunities for middle and high school athletes and coaches. Rob Golabek & Kourtney Brown Named Athletes Of The Year Women's Basketball The University at Buffalo Division of Athletics announced its 2010-11 Athletes of the Year yesterday at its annual Welcome Back Picnic. Earning the honors for this past year were Kourtney Brown of the women’s basketball team and Rob Golabek of the men’s track and field team. Both student athletes were named All-Americans during the course of the year.

Bulls Have Strong Showing At USATF Nationals & Jr. Nationals Four members of the University at Buffalo Track and Field Team were in Eugene, OR this past weekend competing in the USATF Nationals and Junior Nationals. UB’s standout throwers Rob Golabek and Becky O’Brien competed at Nationals, while rising stars Donna Jeanty and Zach Ahart ran events in the Junior Nationals.
Three Bulls Named Academic All-MAC Three members of the men’s and women’s track and field team were named to the Academic All-MAC team, the conference office announced on Tuesday. All three of UB’s members were MAC Champions at the Outdoor Conference Championships.
O’Brien Competes in the Shot Put at NCAA Championships University at Buffalo thrower Becky O’Brien competed in her second event at the NCAA Outdoor Track and Field Championships on Saturday. The sophomore finished 17th out of 24 competitors in the shot put with a top throw of 52-7.5 (16.04 m).
Golabek Earns Second-Team All-America Honors at NCAAs University at Buffalo thrower Rob Golabek competed in the shot put on Friday in the opening round of competition at the NCAA Outdoor Track and Field hosted by Drake University. After a long weather delay, the junior thrower finished in 11th place - falling just short of advancing in the competition. The top nine finishers advanced to the finals. However, his 11th place finish earned him second-team All-America honors.
