Culver Earns MAC Swimmer of the Week Award

BUFFALO, NY – University at Buffalo junior Eric Culver has been selected as the Mid-American Conference's Men's Swimmer of the Week, the league announced from its Cleveland headquarters today. The award was the first weekly recognition by the league this season.

At the season opening WNY Invite on Saturday, October 13, Culver was a three-event winner  Culver swept the distance freestyle races with a 4:44.54 clocking the 500-yard freestyle and claimed the 1,000-yard freestyle in 9:48.35. He also won the 200-yard butterfly in 1:54.48. He also finished third in the 400-yard IM in 4:16.61 behind a pair of UB freshman teammates.

"I am excited for Eric," said head coach Andy Bashor. "He has been putting in the work and effort into his practices and it showed last weekend."

The Bulls open the dual meet season on October 27 as they host Cornell at Alumni Arena Natatorium at 1:00 pm.
