ATHENS, OH – The University at Buffalo women's swimming and diving team picked up a second-place finish in one relay and a school record in the other relay as the first day of the Mid-American Conference Championships came to a conclusion at the Ohio University Aquatic Center on Wednesday.
In the opening race of the night, the Bulls placed second in the 200-yard medley relay. The UB foursome of Marissa Murphy, Brynn Marecki, Jessie Koltz and Caroline Simmons turned in a clocking of 1:40.30, more than five seconds better than their previous top mark of the season. Miami (OH) finished first in 1:39.68.
UB then set a new school record in the final race of the night, the 800-yard freestyle relay.
