High School: Earned four letters and captained one season at Forest Hills High School for coach Tim Jasperse. The Michigan Division II state champion in the 200 individual medley and 100 butterfly, setting state records in both events. Won the state championship in the 100 butterfly three times and once each in the 200 individual medley and 200 medley relay. Earned 14 all-state and 13 All-American honors. Also participated with the Rapid Area Y swim club for coach Nathan Manley.

Personal: Born March 5, 1992. Daughter of Blair and Lisa Murphy. Has one brother (Aaron) and one sister (Meaghan). Hobbies include photography and painting. Favorite athletes are Ryan Lochte and Shawn White. Favorite movies are Step Brothers and The Notebook. Undecided on a major.
