Kristin Waldron Earns MAC Weekly Honor

BUFFALO, NY – University at Buffalo softball player Kristin Waldron earned the Mid-American Conference East Division Player of the Week Award after an outstanding week of play against St. Bonaventure and MAC rivals Ball State and Miami.


Waldron led the team in most aspects of play, as she finished the week with a .476 batting average and a .810 slugging percentage. Waldron went 10 for 21 at the plate, including six RBIs, two doubles, a triple and a home run as the Bulls swept St. Bonaventure and picked up a win over Miami, finishing the week 3-3. Four of Waldron's RBIs came in the wins over St. Bonaventure, where the Bulls posted back-to-back win's in their home opener, defeating the Bonnies ,7-0, and 12-7. Waldron also put up big numbers defensively, finishing the week with 44 putouts in the catcher's spot. The MAC weekly honor is Waldron's second of the season and third of her career.

 

The Bulls host Niagara tomorrow (Wednesday, April 21) afternoon, with the doubleheader beginning at 3 pm at Nan Harvey Field. The Bulls will take their final road trip of the season this weekend, as they travel to MAC rivals Akron and Ohio, with play in Akron beginning on Friday, April 23.
