In game one, the Bulls jumped out to a quick lead, as freshman Ashley Bertot started the game off with a quick single to third base and was able to steal second on the next play. Kristin Waldron grounded out to second base, but Bertot was able to capitalize on the play and advance to third. This perfectly set up Alyssa Ward for the RBI with a single to right field to put the Bulls one up. Cal Poly had a four-run third inning in which the Bulls were not able to recover. Buffalo added one more run in the fifth inning which started with a pair of hits from Alex Bejarano and Taylor Franich. Bertot reached base on a fielder's choice to keep two runners on base. Kristen Gallipani singled to right field to earn the RBI, but the score wasn't enough as Cal Poly went on to win, 4-2. Terese Diazpitched the complete game, striking out eight batters.

The Bulls came back in game two, to earn the split, defeating San Diego, 4-3 in nine innings. San Diego scored a pair of runs right off the bat to take a 2-0 lead, but Buffalo came back with three runs of their own in the bottom of the third inning. The Bulls were able to capitalize on two San Diego errors and put runners at second and third. Waldron knocked in an RBI single to get Buffalo on the board. Ward also had an RBI in the third inning, as the Bulls were able to take a one-run lead. San Diego tied the score in the top of the seventh to send the game into extra innings. It took two more innings to settle the score, with Buffalo coming out on top. In the bottom of the ninth, Andi Sauciersingled to get the momentum going and Candice Sheehan followed up with a single of her own, to once again set up Waldron for the winning RBI. Waldron doubled to end the game and give the Bulls their first win of the weekend.
