Previous College: Played as a freshman at the University of Arizona.

High School: Attended "Nicolae Iorga" Theoretical High School in Braila, Romania. Earned honorable mention honors in 2010-2011. Named to all-district team in Braila. Named MVP in many Romanian tournaments, winning five national singles, four national doubles and three national mixed doubles titles. Won the 14 and under division of the European Championship for Development in Estonia Balkan Championships with the Romanian Team. Named best player in Romania in his age group from 2002 to 2010 and was named a member of the Official Romanian Team by Romanian Tennis Federation. Named most valuable multi-sport athlete by high school. Also competed in handball where he was named MVP of Braila in 2010 and 2011.
