BUFFALO, NY – University at Buffalo men's soccer player Mike Unwin earned a spot on the All-Mid-American Conference team for the second consecutive season as the league announced its annual awards prior to the opening of the league championship tournament.
Unwin, a senior forward, was named to the second team after earning first team honors in 2009. Unwin led the Bulls in most offensive categories with a team-best five goals and 13 points. He tied for the team lead with three assists.
He ranked second in the MAC with 3.31 shots per game and third in the league with 53 shots. He also tied for sixth in the league with his five goals and was seventh among all MAC players with 0.31 goals per game.
The Bulls (7-9-1, 3-3-0 MAC) earned the fourth seed in the MAC Tournament, which kicks off tonight in Akron, OH. UB faces league top seed Akron, ranked second in the country, in a semifinal contest at 5:00 pm. The MAC Championship match is slated for Sunday, November 14 at 4:00 pm.
