Former Bull Martin John Signs With Cardiff City
BUFFALO, NY – Former UB men's soccer standout Martin John has signed a contract with Cardiff City, who is in the second highest league in England. John was signed ahead of Wednesday evening's Carling Cup fixture with Burton Albion. He becomes 'City's fifth signing of the current transfer window.
John, who was in the starting lineup for the 4-1 victory against Burton Albion, has been on trial with the Bluebirds in recent weeks and has impressed significantly in training during that time. He will wear shirt number 26.
"It's great to sign for Cardiff City, the facilities here are fantastic," said John. "Everything about this club is set up for us to be a Premier League side."
The Ottawa, Ontario native completed his career with the Bulls in 2008 following a two-year stint with the Blue and White. He had four goals and three assists in his time at UB. He played at the University of Maine for two seasons prior to his transfer.
