Bulls Earn Eighth Seed and will Host Central Michigan on Monday Night

BUFFALO, NY – The University at Buffalo men's basketball team learned today it will be the eighth seed in the upcoming First Energy Mid-American Conference Tournament and will host ninth-seeded Central Michigan in a first-round game on Monday night at Alumni Arena.

The Bulls finished the regular season with a 12-19 overall record and a 7-9 conference mark. Central Michigan finished with a 4-11 MAC record and went 11-18 overall.

The Bulls defeated the Chippewas, 91-73, back on Jan. 30 at Alumni Arena. Buffalo was led by Cameron Downing who scored a career-high 21 points. Auraum Nuiriankh posted a double-double with 18 points and 10 rebounds. Javon McCrea added 17 points.

This is the third time Buffalo and Central Michigan will meet in the MAC Tournament. The Chippewas defeated the Bulls, 80-74, in the first round of the 2007 MAC Tournament. Buffalo topped Central Michigan, 64-50, in the first round of the 2011 MAC Tournament.

The winner of Monday's game will advance to Cleveland and play fifth-seeded Ball State in the second round on Wednesday night at 6:30 pm.
