Tony Watson Named to Academic All-MAC Team

BUFFALO, NY – University at Buffalo junior guard Tony Watson was named to the Academic All-MAC men's basketball team on Friday as voted on by the league's Faculty Athletic Representatives. The West Palm Beach, FL native is a management major. He has a 3.2 grade point average.

Watson played in 30 games for Bulls as a reserve point guard. He ranked sixth on the team in scoring, averaging a career-best 6.1 points per game. He ranked second on the team with 40 three-pointers and shot 37.4 percent from beyond the arc. He made 34-of-37 free throw attempts to lead the team in free throw percentage (91.9%)

It marks the fourth straight season Buffalo has had a player selected to the Academic All-MAC team and the ninth time under head coach Reggie Witherspoon.
