BUFFALO, NY – The University at Buffalo men's basketball team learned Sunday its season will continue as the Bulls have been selected to play in the CollegeInsider.com Postseason Tournament. Buffalo will play at American University on Wednesday night at 7:30 pm.
It marks the second straight year the Bulls will play in the CIT and the third time in the past four years UB will play postseason basketball. Last season, Buffalo advanced to the third round of the CIT with wins over Quinnipiac and Western Michigan.
American plays in the Patriot League. The Eagles are 20-11 on the season and finished 10-4 in the conference. They lost to conference champion Lehigh in the semifinals of the Patriot League Tournament. The Eagles are led by Charles Hinkle who is averaging 18.5 points and 5.4 rebounds per game.
Buffalo's great season continues as the Bulls will play postseason basketball for the fourth time as a Division I program. UB is 19-10 overall and went 12-4 in the MAC, its best ever record in the conference.
This will be the fifth meeting between the schools. American holds a 3-1 edge in the all-time series. The two teams haven't met since the 1973-74 season.
