Bulls Host Buffalo State in Final Tune-up on Wednesday
BUFFALO, NY – The University at Buffalo men's basketball team will host Buffalo State in its final non-conference game at Alumni Arena on Wednesday night. The Bulls are playing their first home game in nearly a month where they are 4-1 on the season.
The Bulls are coming off an 87-85 overtime loss at Temple on Dec. 28. The Bulls were led by Javon McCrea who scored 28 points and added seven rebounds. Mitchell Watt added a career-best 22 points and nine rebounds for the Bulls.
Buffalo State is 10-1 and ranked 24th in the nation in the Division III ranks. The Bengals just won the Greenbelt Classic Championship by defeating host Catholic, 82-81, on Sunday. Buffalo State is led by Jake Simmons who is averaging 20.5 points per game.
Buffalo leads the all-time series, 45-27. The Bulls won the previous meeting, 93-65, at Alumni Arena Dec. 12, 2009.
Tickets for the game will be sold at the door for only $5.
The game will be broadcast on Time Warner Cable SportsNet. Fans can also tune into 1230 AM WECK, with Josh Whetzel and Pete Lonergan on the call.
