Byron Mulkey Named to Academic All-MAC Men’s Basketball Team

BUFFALO, NY – University at Buffalo senior point guard Byron Mulkey was named to the Academic All-MAC men's basketball team on Tuesday as voted on by the league's Faculty Athletic Representatives. The Wheatfield, NY native is a graduate student in higher education. He has a 3.37 grade point average.

Mulkey, a 2011 All-MAC Second Team selection, had a breakout season for the Bulls.  He averaged 13.1 points, 3.9 rebounds and 4.5 assists per game. His 85 steals on the year not only set a school record, but rank fifth in the long history of the Mid-American Conference.

It marks the third straight season Buffalo has had a player selected to the Academic All-MAC team and the eighth time under head coach Reggie Witherspoon.
