BUFFALO, NY – The University at Buffalo men's basketball team returns to action on Tuesday night when it hosts Ohio at Alumni Arena. The game tips off at 7:30 pm and will be broadcast on SportsTime Ohio as well as ESPN3.
Just nine days after winning Super Bowl XLV with the Green Bay Packers, James Starks will be honored at the game. The former UB running back will be signing autographs at halftime.
Buffalo (15-8, 7-4 MAC) looks to get back on track after dropping a 78-65 decision at Eastern Michigan on Saturday afternoon. Tuesday's game begins an important stretch for the Bulls as they close out the regular season against East Division rivals.
Byron Mulkey has had a hot hand in recent home games. The senior point guard is averaging 20.5 points in UB's six conference home tilts. He scored a career-high 29 points against Central Michigan in the Bulls' last home game.
Ohio enters Tuesday's game with a 12-13 overall record and a 5-6 conference mark. The Bobcats are led by sophomore point guard D.J. Cooper who is averaging 16.8 points and 7.4 assists per game. He ranks third in the nation in assists.
Buffalo won the previous meeting between the teams in memorable fashion back on Jan. 22. The Bulls erased an 18-point second half deficit to defeat the Bobcats, 73-68. Zach Filzen led the Bulls with a then career-high 23 points, including six three-pointers.
