BUFFALO, NY - University at Buffalo senior guard Rodney Pierce has been named the Big 4 Player of the Year by The Buffalo News. Pierce has been selected as the best player among UB, Canisius, Niagara and St. Bonaventure.
Pierce has been the Bulls' top scoring threat this season. He leads the team and ranks third in the Mid-American Conference, averaging 19.2 points per game. He has scored 20 or more points in a game 13 times this season. He is on pace to become the first UB player to be named to the All-MAC First Team twice in a career.
A native of Buffalo, Pierce was one of five players selected to the Big 4 team. He joins Andrew Nicholson and Jonathan Hall from St. Bonaventure, Frank Turner from Canisius and Bilal Benn from Niagara.
