UB-Connecticut Game to Air on Time-Warner Tonight
BUFFALO, NY – Time-Warner Cable in Upstate New York will air tonight's Connecticut at Buffalo football game live at 6 pm due to a change in the New York Mets schedule. The game will air on digital cable channel 87 in Buffalo and digital cable channel 98 in Rochester.
The game, which was to air live on SNY at 6 pm, will now air on tape delay at 10:30 pm so that the network can carry the second half of a doubleheader between the Mets and Philadelphia Phillies at 7:15 pm. That doubleheader was scheduled because of a rainout yesterday.
Because of the change in schedule, ESPN has allowed local clearance of the game in both the New England and Upstate New York regions and Time-Warner has been able to take the game and air it live for Western New York fans who cannot make it to UB Stadium for the Homecoming weekend showdown between the Huskies and Bulls.
"We are grateful to ESPN for acting quickly to make sure that fans across the Upstate New York region can still see this game live," said Warde Manuel, UB's Vice President and Director of Athletics. "We are expecting a great crowd for our Homecoming game and are glad to be able to have a live television audience to see it."
