Khalil Mack Earns National Recognition
BUFFALO, NY – University at Buffalo linebacker Khalil Mack had one of the finest games of his career against Stony Brook on Saturday and it didn't go unnoticed by the national pundits. Mack was named the National Defensive Performer of the Week by College Football Performance Awards.
The sophomore linebacker had an eye-popping eight tackles, a sack, 3.5 tackles for loss, two forced fumbles, an interception and three quarterback hurries against the Seawolves.
Through two games, Mack has 13 tackles, two sacks, six tackles for loss, three forced fumbles, an interception and six quarterback hurries. He leads the Mid-American Conference in tackles for loss, forced fumbles and is tied for third in sacks.
The goal of College Football Performance Awards is to provide the most scientifically rigorous conferments in college football. Recipients are selected exclusively based upon objective scientific rankings of the extent to which individual players increase the overall effectiveness of their teams.
