LFG Football Camp Ohio Raises More Than $16,000 for Pediatric Cancer
University at Buffalo assistant football coach Mike Dietzel recently joined more than 110 other college coaches for the third annual Lauren´s First and Goal Football Camp on Sunday, June 17 at Otterbein University. Nearly 500 high school student-athletes attended the camp, which raised more than $16,000 for pediatric brain tumor research.

Dempsey’s Estate Gift to Support 1958 Lambert Cup Team Football Endowed Scholarship
The University at Buffalo Division of Athletics has announced today it has received a significant estate gift in support of its football program. Former UB football player, John (Jack, Bear) Dempsey committed his estate to the UB Division of Athletics to be used towards growing the 1958 Lambert Cup Team Football Endowed Scholarship. Established in 2009, this significant gift will now raise the overall scholarship to over $500,000. In recognition of this gift, Dempsey will be honored as a member of the Bulls Legacy Program.

Murchie Family Makes $1 Million Gift to UB Athletics
The University at Buffalo Division of Athletics announced today that former UB hockey player Tunney Murchie and his family have committed a $1 million gift to be used toward capital projects in UB Stadium and Alumni Arena. This is one of the largest single commitments in UB Division of Athletics history. In recognition of the gift, UB Athletics will recommend to the UB Council that the football center at UB Stadium be named “The Murchie Family Football Center.”

Mack and Skinner Lead Veteran Linebackers
The 2011 crop of linebackers was predicted by many to lead the team’s defense, and lead they did, with three of the team’s top four tacklers coming from the linebacking corps. While many of the household names excelled under the high expectations, the Bulls also received breakout seasons from previously unproven players. Khalil Mack and Lee Skinner were the key cogs in the defensive backfield, and both return in 2012 with similarly high hopes.

Oliver Looking For an Even Bigger Year in 2012
It is safe to say Branden Oliver could have made quite a highlight reel after his record-breaking season in 2011. As a sophomore, the Miami native rushed for a school-record 1,395 yards and 13 touchdowns as he evolved into the Bulls’ top offensive threat.
