Willy Signs with New York Jets

BUFFALO, NY— The New York Jets have signed former University at Buffalo standout, Drew Willy to a futures/reserve contract. Originally from Randolph, NJ, Willy was a starting quarterback for the Bulls from 2005-2008, and is Buffalo's all-time passing leader. Willy can join the Jets as soon as off-season workouts begin.

Wrapping up a brilliant career, Willy led the Bulls to the 2008 Mid-American Conference championship and holds the school records for completions (849), attempts (1,322), passing yards (8,748), touchdowns (52), total offense (8,639) and completion percentage (64.2).

In 2009 Willy dressed for two games after being signed to the roster of the Indianapolis Colts and was part of the team that won the AFC Championship and advanced to the Super Bowl. He began his career by signing with the Baltimore Ravens after the 2009 NFL draft.

Most recently Willy spent time on the Las Vegas Locomotives of the United Football League, helping them to their second straight UFL championship. During his time with the Locos, Willy completed 57-for-96 passes for 535 yards, two touchdowns and one interception and added 31 yards and a touchdown rushing on 12 attempts.
