Eight Bulls Named to Phil Steele’s Midseason All-MAC Team

BUFALO, NY – Eight members of the University at Buffalo football team have been named to the Phil Steele Midseason All-MAC Team.

Linebacker Khalil Mack, safety Domonic Cook and punt returner Terrell Jackson were named to the first team. Wide receiver Marcus Rivers, guard Peter Bittner, defensive end Steven Means, cornerback Josh Thomas and safety Davonte Shannon were named to the second team.
 
Mack is playing like a seasoned veteran in only his freshman season. The Fort Pierce, FL native has 27 tackles, including a team-best nine tackles for loss. He also leads the team in pass breakups (6) and quarterback hurries (4).
 
Cook has flourished since making the move from cornerback to safety this season. He has been a turnover machine with three interceptions, three forced fumbles and two fumble recoveries through six games.  
 
Jackson is averaging 16 yards per punt return this season to lead the Mid-American Conference.
 
Rivers is another Bull having a breakout season. The junior receiver leads the team with 37 catches and 518 yards receiving. He's tied for second on the team with three touchdowns.
 
Bittner has been the workhorse of the Bulls' offensive line over his four-year career. He was a 2009 All-MAC selection.
 
Means leads the Bulls with 3.5 sacks and ranks second with 5.5 tackles for loss. He leads all UB defensive linemen with 24 tackles.
 
Thomas has been a tremendous cover corner for the Bulls this season. He has 22 tackles, including three for loss, as well as an interception and four pass breakups.
 
Shannon is having another stellar season at safety. He leads the team with 50 tackles to go along with a pair of interceptions and a fumble recovery.
