BUFFALO, NY – University at Buffalo senior Pierre Miville-Deschenes has been named Mid-American Conference East Division Pitcher of the Week for the third time in his career.
In a doubleheader on March 13, Miville-Deschenes (1-2) pitched the second complete game of his career as the Bulls defeated Tennessee Tech, 9-3, in the seven-inning nightcap. In his first victory of the season, Miville-Deschenes struck out six batters while allowing only five hits.
With Miville-Deschenes' selection, the Bulls have earned MAC East Division Pitcher of the Week honors in consecutive weeks. In the first week of nominations, senior Chaz Mye earned the honor.
The Bulls (6-7) will hit the road for one last non-conference four-game series on March 19-21 versus Butler. The series will open on Friday, March 19 at 3:00 pm with the first-ever meeting between the two squads.
