Media Services
The University at Buffalo Athletic Communications Office serves as the primary source of information for the University's 20 athletic programs. Press releases, weekly releases, game notes, player and coaches bios, updated statistics and records for all of UB’s athletic teams can be found on the UB’s official athletic website. Members of the media are encouraged to get in touch with the appropriate sport contact for any other information they need may need. The Athletic Communications staff is always interested in assisting members of the media in their coverage of UB athletics.
Interview Policy
All interviews with University at Buffalo players, coaches and administrators must be arranged through the UB Athletic Communications Office. In order to avoid any deadline conflicts, please call two days in advance. Please note that player telephone numbers will not be given out under any circumstances.
Media Guides
Beginning in 2009, the University at Buffalo Division of Athletics will cease to print media guides. All media information can be accessed from each individual sport page.
Email Listservs
The UB Athletic Communications Office maintains email listservs for each of its sports. If you would like to be added to an email listerv to receive all press releases that are sent out, please email Athletic Communications Associate Director Brian Wolff at bcwolff@buffalo.edu. Please be sure to indicate which sport email listserv you would like to be added to.
Media Credentials/Parking
Media credentials are required for all football, men’s basketball, women’s basketball and volleyball home games and will be issued to working media only. To request a press/photo credential and parking pass, please fill out our credential request form. Credentials can also be obtained by contacting the appropriate sport contact or by faxing to 716-645-6840. Please get in your request at least 48 hours in advance to ensure credentials being granted. The University at Buffalo follows the guidelines set forth by the NCAA and the Mid-American Conference governing the issuance of credentials.
Photography
Members of the media reporting on UB athletics can request photos of UB athletes or coaches by contacting Paul Hokanson at 716-645-6697 or pdh3@buffalo.edu. In the email, please include your name, affiliation, what the photo will be used for, the size needed, color or black & white and the file format desired.
Wireless Internet/Ethernet Connections
Wireless internet service is available in Alumni Arena with a valid UB username and password, and ethernet connections are available for photographers to use in UB Stadium for photo transmission. Any media member wishing to use the wireless internet service in Alumni Arena or a hardwire connection in UB Stadium must apply for a UB account at least three days in advance by filling out our credential request form. There is no charge for this service.

From the West (Cleveland, Erie,
Chicago)
Take the I-90 East until you reach the I-290 (past the Buffalo
airport exit). Take the I-290 West (sign is for Niagara Falls) and
proceed until Exit 5B (Millersport Highway, Rte. 263). Get off exit
and merge into traffic. Go through first light (Marriott is on your
left) but move into right lane. Enter campus at the Flint Street
entrance and stay straight on John James Audubon Parkway. Go
through three lights until you come to a light at Frontier Road.
Turn right onto Frontier Road and stay straight (turns into St.
Rita’s Lane). At the end of St. Rita’s Lane, turn right
onto Webster Road. Alumni Arena will be on the right and UB Stadium
will be on the left as you drive down Webster Road. Follow parking
attendant instructions to the appropriate media parking lot on
gamedays.
From the East (Rochester, Albany, New York
City)
Take the I-90 West until you reach the I-290 (just past tolls,
follow State University signs). Take the I-290 West (sign is for
Niagara Falls) and proceed until Exit 5B (Millersport Highway, Rte.
263). Get off exit and merge into traffic. Follow directions above
from the West.
From the South (Pittsburgh)
Take I-79 North until you get to Erie, PA. Take the I-90 East
until you reach the I-290 (past the Buffalo airport exit). Take the
I-290 West (sign is for Niagara Falls) and proceed until Exit 5B
(Millersport Highway, Rte. 263). Get off exit and merge into
traffic. Follow directions above from the West.
From the North (Canada)
Take the QEW to the Queenston/Lewiston Bridge. Once across bridge,
get on I-190 South. Follow I-190 South until you reach the I-290
East and proceed until Exit 5B (Millersport Highway, Rte. 263). Get
off exit and merge into traffic. Follow directions above from the
West.
