Donald Reed joined the University at Buffalo in 2007. In his capacity with UB, Reed serves as the Senior Associate Athletic Director for Academics and Sports Management. In his role at UB, Reed oversees Academic Services, Student-Athlete Development, and the Sport Administrator for the Baseball, Men’s and Women’s Cross Country and Track & Field Programs.
Reed comes to Buffalo after spending seven years at Iowa State where he was elevated from Director of Student-Athlete Services to Associate Athletic Director for Academic and Student Services. He directed and supervised all aspects of the academic support, personal development and career development for the Cyclones’ Athletic Department.
Prior to arriving at Iowa State, Reed spent two years as the Manager of Academic Development Programs at Arizona State University. He was the Academic Program Coordinator for Athletics at New Mexico State from 1991-1998.
Reed is a graduate of the University of North Texas with a Bachelor of Business Administration in Marketing/Management where he was a standout member of the Mean Green basketball team. He also earned a Master of Science in Kinesiology/Education and Sport Administration from North Texas.
In 1999, Reed received his Doctor of Philosophy in Education Management and Development from New Mexico State University.
