Bhardwaj Named One Of UB's Top 10 Professors

BUFFALO, NY - UB athletic’s academic advisor Dr. Kushal Bhardwaj was acknowledged on Monday as one of the university’s top 10 professors, as recognized by the university’s student newspaper “The Spectrum”.

“Dr. B”, as his students and athletes call him, is a professor in the African American Studies Department. In the article, Bhardwaj is describes as a teacher who “encourages participation and a bond between the students ... to spark conversation, and anyone is free to speak on an issue raised by another peer or ‘Dr. B’ himself.”

Bhardwaj is just one of a group of academic advisors who continue to improve the learning experience for UB student-athletes. In just the past academic year, Buffalo student athletes posted the highest cumulative grade point average in the department’s history. In the Spring semester, the 18 varsity sports teams combined for a 3.0 GPA. UB had 277 student-athletes (56%) finish with a GPA of 3.0 or better during the spring semester, also an all-time high. The Bulls also had 21 student-athletes post a perfect 4.0 grade point average.
