Mack and Baccas Named Athletes of the Week

Khalil Mack (Fort Pierce, FL/Westwood) of the football team had a career-high 15 tackles in Buffalo's 29-19 win over Massachusetts. The junior linebacker also had a career-best 2.5 sacks, 3.5 tackles for loss and two forced fumbles. He kept the Minutemen out of the end zone on back-to-back plays, stopping a third and fourth and goal try from the 1-yard line on UMass' opening possession. In the game he broke the school record for tackles for loss in a career with 53.5 and continues to be the NCAA's active career leader for tackles for loss.
Christa Baccas (Hillburn, NY/Suffern) of the women's basketball team averaged 13.7 rebounds and 8.7 points for the week. In the Bulls' win over Oakland, the 6-2 sophomore center/forward recorded a career-high 15 rebounds, including 10 on the defensive boards, and six blocked shots, another career high. Against Wright State, she recorded a double-double with 11 points and 14 rebounds. For the season, she leads the Bulls with 12.0 rebounds per game and has 15 of the team's 17 blocked shots.
