Pressler and Rodriguez Named Athletes of the Week

Mike Pressler (Montgomery, NY/Valley Central) of the men's cross country team was UB's top finisher at the Princeton Invitational as he helped the Bulls to a sixth-place team finish. Pressler completed the 8K course in 24:33 to finish 11th in a field of 212 individuals. The junior's time was nearly a minute faster than his previous 8K season best of 25:28.7 when he finished fourth at last month's UB Stampede Invitational.

Spencer Rodriguez (Blaine, MN/Blaine) of the women's swimming and diving team opened the season with three victories as the Bulls hosted the WNY Invite against their Big Four rivals. Rodriguez claimed both individual medley races, winning the 200-yard IM in 2:08.00 and the 400-yard IM in 4:33.78. The sophomore also won the 200-yard breaststroke in 1:06.90.
