Dugan and Loesing Named Athletes of the Week

Mike Dugan (Rotterdam, NY/Mohonasen) of the men's swimming and diving team won two individual titles and was part of three winning relay squads at the MAC Championships. Dugan won his first 50-yard freestyle title in 20.44 seconds on Thursday's opening night. On Friday, he led the Bulls to the top three spots in winning the 100-yard butterfly in 48.22 and becoming UB's first-ever MAC champion in the event. He also helped the Bulls to wins in the 200- and 400-yard freestyle relays and the 200-yard medley relay.

Mackenzie Loesing (Cincinnati, OH/St. Ursula Academy) of the women's basketball team averaged 15 points, 3.5 rebounds and three steals in two games, including UB's MAC Tournament First Round win over Northern Illinois. In the regular season finale against Akron, Loesing scored 17 points and pulled down three rebounds while adding four steals. Additionally, she was honored by the MAC by earning a spot on the league's All-Freshman team and was an All-MAC honorable mention.
