McCrea and Powers Named Athletes of the Week

| Javon McCrea (Newark, NY/Newark) of the men's basketball team averaged 27 points, 12 rebounds and three blocks in two games. Against Kent State, the junior forward scored a career-high 33 points on 9-of-12 shooting and was a perfect 15-for-15 from the free throw line - the third most free throws in a game in school history, becoming the first player in school history to make 15 or more free throws in a game without a miss. In the Bulls' 68-65 win over Bowling Green, he scored 21 points and added a career-high 14 rebounds as his basket with 31 seconds remaining in the game broke a 63-63 tie and gave the Bulls the lead for good. |

| Jessica Powers (Kalamazoo, MI/Kalamazoo Central) of the women's swimming and diving team swept the distance freestyle races in weekend meets at Bowling Green and Miami (OH). On Saturday, she posted a season-best time of 10:14.69 to win the 1,000-yard freestyle and took the 500-yard freestyle in 4:59.60. The next day, she won the 1,650-yard freestyle in 17:11.74 and later won the 500-yard freestyle in 5:03.44. |
