Inzina And Thompson Named Athletes Of The Week

Taylor Thompson (Waterloo, Ontario/Sir John A. MacDonald) of the women's soccer team scored the game-winning goal in UB's 2-1 MAC Quarterfinal victory at Kent State on Sunday. The win was UB's first in the MAC Tournament since 2000 and propelled the Bulls to the semifinals at Toledo. The goal was Thompson's fourth of the season, a new career-high.

John Inzina (Clarence, NY/Clarence) of the men's cross country team earned All-MAC honors at the league championship meet as the Bulls finished third overall, their highest finish since joining the league. Inzina finished eighth in 24:47.0 for the 8K race to gain a spot on the All-MAC Second Team. His time was more than a minute better than his previous best 8K mark of the season.
