Woods And Lewandowski Named Athletes Of The Week

Kristy Woods (Mercer, PA/Grove City) of the women's track and field team earned Field Athlete of the Meet honors at the Cornell Denault Invitational. Woods extended her season-best with a victory in the women’s weight throw at 61-10.50 (18.86m), adding nearly 4.5 inches onto her previous top mark. She also scored a first-place finish in the women’s shot put with a toss of 50-1.75 (15.28m).

Mark Lewandowski (Depew, NY/Lancaster) of the wrestling team won both of his matches over the weekend as the Bulls downed MAC rival Northern Illinois and Southern Illinois-Edwardsville. Wrestling at 165 pounds, Lewandowski scored a major decision over NIU's Matt Mougin, 13-4, on Saturday and then defeated Steven Ross of SIU-Edwardsville on a first-round technical fall, 17-0. This season. Lewandowski is 31-6, with 16-3 record in dual meet competition with 11 technical falls.
