The 1958 Bulls forfeited the only bowl bid ever received by UB; an opportunity that would not be offered again until 2008. This bold decision was made by a group of young men at great personal sacrifice to themselves as individuals and as a team. The 1958 team's unified stance against racism was a great and principled action, inspiring to others, and dignified themselves, the university, and all of Buffalo in the eyes of the entire nation.
