The 1958 Bulls forfeited the only bowl bid ever received by UB; an opportunity that would not be offered again until 2008. This bold decision was made by a group of young men at great personal sacrifice to themselves as individuals and as a team. The 1958 team's unified stance against racism was a great and principled action, inspiring to others, and dignified themselves, the university, and all of Buffalo in the eyes of the entire nation.
Through the establishment of the 1958 Lambert Cup Team Legacy Scholarship, deserving student-athletes will wear the blue & white and represent all of what it means to be a UB Bull. They will be forever connected to the legacy of the fine men who came before them and laid the foundation for future generations.
You can commemorate the 1958 team by making a gift to this
legacy football scholarship.
The 1958 Lambert Cup Team will be permanently honored in the Bulls Legacy Program display case located in the University at Buffalo Alumni Arena lobby. Individuals who make a gift of $25,000 or more to the scholarship fund will also be honored as a member of the Bulls Legacy Program.
